touching street again,...

used dodge and burn tool only, after switching pic into b&w.

have been reading `cweeks journal: "what is a manip" today,... an was shocked that i was creating a manip ....

the dodge tool is not allowed

if you see high rated work's by "Jeanloup Sieff" for example you will always find dodge's and burn's ...

take a look at Jeanloup Sieff's Official Page & Gallery

and arn't we ("the Photoshop users") the new generation,...
not working in an photooptical (analog) darkroom but working in a digital one,...

isn't it the 21th century? ...

buy a fucking magazine like "ELLE","Vogue", "Cosmopolitan", "FHM"... whatever....
they all have been working on their pictures,...

and not only playing with the "Adjustment of Levels" they almost take 2 or 3 pores and create a toal skin...

they are all fucking use NEATIMAGE and the "patch-tool",... more and more often they use liquefy to create totally new bodyshapes...

those mag's are sold more often than TOILETPAPER... and they even are much more expensive... so isn't that the new way of photography?

well, of curse i also do take pictures with an old
EXA 1C
develop them by hand and work in the darkroom... but even there i use the burn and doge... to gret better looking photos.

but never the less,... i also work with the tool's of the 21th century...

well enough for now,...

cheer's

ps: thank yoh `cweeks for your journal... i'm thinking a lot of it....

hmm too much for me, the manip is too obvious. esp in the upper right corner (sky) and around the ladies' legs, just doesnt seem natural too me.

but i agree with your statement quite a bit :)

I think b&w is working best with city shots .. apart from real colourful ones maybe. this one is cool cause it is telling a story. It fascinates me sometimes how you can get lost in your thoughts watching a simple shot or artwork.

To that some sort of flame I can only say: art is art, no matter how you express it - just express it. Technical you can learn how to photograph stuff without the need to correct mistakes afterwards. There are million jobs out there though where people do nothing else but flatening skin and erasing spots and so on. I do not criticise it. I just think everyone should use whatever technique is expressing their work most. If you go and want to win a contest of blank and clean photography, then it's written on another page.
